Can I use a card's action on the same turn I play it?
Several experienced players agree on this and nothing in the rulebook contradicts it; there is no official ruling.

Yes. Playing a card is not an action on it, so you can use one of its actions straight away, and if it matches the favored suit that action is free. Resolve all of the card's impact icons first, though.
