Does a Season-effect bonus token at the Lodge have to differ from what I turned in?
The publisher answered this directly; the rulebook also confirms the Lodge triggers Season effects.

No. The Season effect triggers separately after the exchange, so the bonus token isn't restricted by what you turned in. Your exchange itself still has to be valid.
