Which side of the hero and level cards do I use for solo versus two players?
The rulebook states which side to use for each player count.

Use the 1P side of hero and level cards when playing solo, and the 2P side with two or four players. The stats differ by side, which is why a hero can show fewer icons on the 2P side.
