How do solo AI tile purchases work: can it take a tile it owns, and what happens to tiles it takes?

The AI has no memory and takes whatever the die roll says, so it can take a duplicate of a tile it already has; the tile is removed from the game and never re-enters the market. If the AI scavenges a duplicate tile, both are removed. After removal, slide tiles left and fill the right-most space from the bag.
