Why are some of the 1-pound coins larger than the others?
Nothing in the rules depends on coin size. In some printings 12 of the 1-pound coins are larger and are meant for the book display, where a book's coin goes to the player who takes it. Other printings have all 1-pound coins the same size, so it may simply be a miscut. Play with them as ordinary pounds.
