Does Overkill trigger the villain's Retaliate?
The official Rules Reference says overkill damage is not an attack against the villain; Retaliate needs the character to be attacked.

No. Overkill damage is damage from the attack, but the Rules Reference says it does not count as an attack against the villain, and Retaliate only triggers after the character with it is itself attacked.
