Does Masters of Mayhem still require shuffling the encounter deck when the Master of Evil you want was already on top of the discard?
A best reading from forum discussion; no official ruling or rulebook text settles it. Players disagree.

Yes, shuffle. Masters of Mayhem tells you to search the encounter deck and then shuffle it, and the Rules Reference says a deck that is searched is shuffled afterward. The older ruling that you need not shuffle a deck you did not search does not apply, because you did search it. Shuffling also erases any foreknowledge of the deck's order.
