If I start my turn with no dice, do I pass automatically?
The rulebook says a player out of dice passes automatically and has no more turns.
Yes. Passing is automatic when you have no dice at the start of your turn, and you are out for the round, so you cannot buy a black die or complete a contract with goods gained later. You only get a last chance in the turn in which you place your final die.
