Can I still take bonus actions after I place my last die?
The rulebook lets bonus actions follow the main action and passing happens when you are out of dice.

Yes, within that same turn: complete contracts, adjust or reroll dice, or even buy a black die (which gives you another turn). Once the turn ends with no dice you pass, and you cannot take bonus actions at the start of a later turn without dice.
