Can I use a black or white die on its own, or stack it on my own die?
The rulebook allows combining black and white with coloured dice, and several posters agree.

Yes to both. A black or white die can be your only die for an action (for example a one-die action) or be combined with your coloured dice. It can sit on top of your own colour, and on an occupied space you still pay the fee.
