Can I use more than one assistant when my ship stops at their location?
The designer confirmed this reading in two threads, and the rulebook allows one assistant action.

No. Only the assistant at your ship's location can be used, and only one assistant action per turn, so with two assistants at the same location you pick one and the other scores its 2 VP as skipped. The action available is the one on the card that placed that assistant. Doing a different main action there also counts as not using your assistants.
