Can I plan cards or complete career goals during interim or final scoring?

You cannot plan a card during scoring: that free action belongs to Phase B of your own turn. Career goals differ between editions: the current rulebook allows completing career tasks before and after the buy-a-card step in final scoring, though the designer said in 2020 that this was an expansion rule and using it in the base game was a house rule. The rulebook grants no such permission for interim scoring.
