When and how many VP do I score for assistants I do not use?
The publisher worked through the three-assistant examples, the designer confirmed the timing, and the rulebook states the rule.
You score 2 VP for each assistant of yours that you could have used but did not: when you sail past its location, stop there but take a different main action, or use one assistant and leave another at the same location. You take the VP at the moment you pass. With three assistants at one location, using one of them scores 4 VP, while skipping the location or doing something else there scores 6 VP.
