How do I tell A, B and C cards apart, and how many are used in a game?
The designer explained the card counts and handling directly.

Dark-rope cards (56) are the A cards and are used in every game. Light-rope cards (101) are the B cards: shuffle about 40 random ones into the deck each game and put them back afterwards. The 8 cards with a red number are C cards from the story deck; they enter the standard deck only when a story says so, and then stay in it for future games.
