Is there a limit on how many buildings can be in play, or that I can own?
The designer ruled that more than ten buildings can be built, and players agree on the nine-marker personal cap.

There is no limit of ten on buildings in play: extra buildings simply go beside the board, and buying never requires an empty board space. The real cap is per player: you can own only as many buildings as you have control markers (nine).
