Is a character still committed after it is readied or after the quest phase ends?
The rulebook says characters stay committed through the end of the quest phase unless removed.

Readying a committed character does not remove it from the quest, and it remains committed through the end of the quest phase. After that phase it is no longer committed, so a travel-phase effect can't hit it as committed.
