Can I spend wigs instead of Influence when I still have Influence?
The rulebook allows wigs only for the Influence you are short.

No — wigs only cover a shortfall: when you lack the Influence needed to visit a Noble, you pay the difference at 1 wig per missing Influence. They are not a substitute while you have enough Influence.
