When do hit location reactions happen, and do they happen on the killing blow?
The wound-then-reaction order is in the rulebook's Wound Steps; the killing-blow and house-rule points rest on several agreeing players, with no official ruling.

- Kingdom Death: Monster rulebook · Rulebook · The Wound Steps
A wound is dealt first (the top AI card moves to the wound stack), then fellow survivors may react, then the hit location's reaction is performed; the reaction doesn't undo the wound. Card text outside the reaction section happens before the wound roll, while a Reflex always happens after it. If the wound kills the monster, it is defeated first, the reaction isn't played, and the remaining hit locations are not resolved; some groups play the reaction first as a house rule.
