Only the Crush & Devour AI card swallows a survivor. The effect starts as soon as they are swallowed and repeats at the start of each of the swallowed survivor's turns until they are regurgitated; the Gobble Up card tells you to wound the Antelope hard enough to make it spit the survivor out.
