What do the 3 points allocated to pyramids at setup mean?
The designer explained the points are pyramid levels, and the rulebook lists the two allowed combinations.

They set starting pyramid levels, not Prayer Points. Choose either 1/1/1 (three level 1 pyramids) or 2/1/0 (a level 2, a level 1 and a level 0). Arrangements like 3/0/0 are not allowed. Players choose in turn order one after another.
