Can I play Veto against a DI card used in battle?
The publisher FAQ says no; the designer advised a limited exception for Escape.

No. Veto cannot be used against a DI card played during a battle. The designers later advised allowing a Veto on an Escape card, since Escape cancels the battle before it starts, even though the card text strictly forbids it.
