Can I pick up a creature mid-move and use its extra movement?
The publisher's FAQ rules out gathering a bonus mid-move.

No. The creature's movement bonus belongs to the troop that starts with it; a troop that gains a creature or merges mid-move gets no extra movement. A troop that starts with a creature keeps its bonus even if it leaves the creature behind.
