Treat the Police Station as any other place: leave or collect an Assistant there, then, if your Family Member is in the Police Station, send it to any place on the board and carry out that place's action. Carrying out the action is voluntary, and the action of a place where your own Assistant already stands is still one action. Once it is out, it cannot be sent again until it has been returned to the Police Station.
