Must one card be fully resolved before another is played in response?
Generally yes: resolve a card's effect fully before applying the next one, except that Geis and similar cards interrupt as soon as the card is declared. A played card cannot be taken back because an opponent responds. If several players want to respond to the same trigger and one rushes ahead, the player entitled to go first can ask to rewind.
