If I already share a territory with an opponent and I move another clan in, does that start a clash?
The rulebook says a clash occurs when clans are moved to a territory where opposing clans are present.

Yes. Moving a clan into a territory containing opposing clans starts a clash even if you were already there. The reverse also holds: if nobody moves in, nothing starts.
