When a card's 'when you play' exhaust effect (like Shinto) triggers, is it before or after the played card's own text resolves?
Several experienced players agree; no official ruling.

Resolve the played card completely first, then resolve the second card's when-you-play effect. So an exhaust such as Shinto triggers after Clans has fully resolved, not midway through it.
