Is there a first-player advantage, and does the solstice card change the start player?

The designers have not seen a meaningful first-player advantage. Everyone gets the same number of turns, since the game ends after the round finishes plus one more turn, though a first player who hands out Unrest in the last round leaves others no chance to return it. Solstice resolves simultaneously to save downtime, and players refill the market at the end of their own turns, not at Solstice. The designers tested compensating rules and judged them too fiddly.
