Can I move a piece before my Queen Bee has been placed?
The rulebook says moving is allowed only once the Queen Bee has been placed, and many players repeat it.

No. Until your own Queen Bee is on the table you can only place new pieces, not move any. That also means opening with a Beetle and climbing onto an opposing piece before the Queen is down is not possible. Once your Queen is placed, each turn you choose to place a piece or move one, even with pieces still in hand.
