Where can a route cross from one tile to the next, and do dotted lines matter?
The designer's 2016 middle-crossing ruling was overturned by his 2022 ruling that adjacent roads always connect.

Originally the designer ruled that roads cross to a neighbouring tile only at the middle of the edge, following the dotted line. That has been replaced: since 2022 any two orthogonally adjacent roads connect, so you need not follow the dotted line (overpass levels are the exception). Which side of the road you drive on never matters for picking up drinks.
