If two restaurants are equally far from a house, can coffee on the way decide which it picks?
A 2023 designer answer clarified that the older tie ruling doesn't cover this.

Yes. When restaurants are at the same distance, the house may take the route on which more coffee gets sold, as in a case where it passes a coffee shop on the way to the same-distance restaurant. This overrides a reading of the older tie ruling in which only shops on all tied routes sell, which concerned routes with equal coffee.
