Does a Rare card have a number or colour when it is played to the Field?

It needs no designated number, but it must be a legal number for that row when played, and curses do not change it. The rulebook says it counts as no colour or number on playing, so it ignores curses like the Phoenix one. An earlier 'fluid Rare' explanation was corrected to this.
