The rulebook's Cone of Silence rule says partners talk openly and cannot show cards; replies add how it is used.

They cannot show or reveal cards to each other. Partners may talk openly, so each can infer what the other holds. To discuss privately, discard a Cone of Silence token: the team gets a timed private conversation and the opposing team gets the same time, like a time-out.
