Can I trigger an attack by ending my move in an enemy region?
The rulebook lets units pass through opponents but not end there.

No. You may pass through enemy regions but not stop there, so a move that would end on an enemy-held region is illegal. If every region next to a village is held by opponents, an army cannot move in to attack it.
