If Rasputin dies while the Elder One is still on the Summoning track, is the game lost?

No. Free Death returns him to life, so the game continues. The rulebook ends the game when an investigator dies before the Elder One is summoned, but the designer says Rasputin is never actually killed, so the end-game condition does not trigger. A CMON support reply relayed in 2020 worded it as the loss being triggered and then cancelled; the outcome is the same.
