When the Cthulhu final-stage reveal makes you discard items and take wounds to keep them, does Toughness reduce the total once or per item?

Question

Accepted Answer

The effect applies all at once, so you may keep all five items and take five wounds reduced by Toughness 4 to three. Toughness applies to the combined total, not each item.
