How many guesses does my team get after a clue?
The rulebook states this directly.

Up to the clue's number plus one. You must make at least one guess, and you may stop at any time. The turn ends at a wrong guess (bystander, enemy agent or assassin), when you stop, or when you've used up the allowance. The bonus guess is per turn, not once per game, and doesn't grow with earlier misses.
