How does negative Clank work if I have fewer cubes in the Clank area than I need to remove?

You remove as many of your cubes as you can; any shortfall can still be applied to Clank you make later in the same turn, and whatever is left over is lost at the end of the turn. Negative Clank never removes Ghost cubes or another player's cubes, and a 'lose Clank, draw' effect still draws even if nothing was removed.
