Can an Old World card put a token in a ruined region, or can a ruined region be chosen?
The rulebook bars tokens in ruined regions; the later FAQ is quoted by one player, so this is not firmly confirmed.

No. A ruined region cannot receive a token, and under the later FAQ (as a player quotes it) a ruined region cannot be chosen for an Old World card's effect either. Pick a legal region and place the token there; you cannot name a ruined region to avoid a placement. The earlier FAQ wording allowed choosing one and placing nothing, which was changed.
