What happens if I take more warriors than my longhouse (8) can hold, and can I swap out old ones?
The publisher answered this and it matches the rulebook.

You keep as many as fit and return the rest to the supply. You cannot take extras and then discard the dice you dislike, because only the new excess is returned.
