If there is no room for a newborn animal, do I still get the Breeding Cave or Quarry bonus or can I eat it?
The designer ruled that a baby is only born if it has room.

No. A baby only exists if you can accommodate it on your Home board, so with no room there is no animal to eat and no Breeding Cave or Quarry food or stone. You cannot make room by eating the parents either, since parents and newborns cannot be converted during breeding.
