What happens if a battle ends in a tie?
The rulebook says a tie means all participants lose, and losers take their cards back.

A tie for the highest total means every participant loses. All their figures in the battle go to Valhalla, nobody gets a pillage reward or Battle Glory, and every participant takes their played cards back to hand. This applies to three-way ties for first as well.
