If nobody opposes my pillage, do I get Battle Glory or play a battle card?
The official FAQ 1.1 and the rulebook both say an unopposed pillage gives the reward but no Battle Glory.

No. With no enemy figures present you pillage automatically: you take the province's pillage reward, but there is no battle, so you play no card and score no Battle Glory from your Axes.
