Do I have to use the Leaders expansion's replacement technology cards, and what changed?
The expansion supplies four replacement technology cards (Mass Cloning, Modular Fleet, Spacetime Anomaly Studies, Stealth Terraformers), marked with a version mark, and its rulebook says to swap them in for the originals. The designer calls the swap a balance improvement rather than a requirement. Mass Cloning loses its stockpile ability and gains a choose-one option; Spacetime Anomaly Studies loses its immediate jump 2, which Modular Fleet gains; Stealth Terraformers now costs 5 ore and jumps 2, resolving control and system bonuses before it may colonize.
