If an item with evidence tokens goes on a tool belt and its ability is blanked, can Darrell Simmons still use those tokens as evidence?

Yes. Once a resource token is defined as evidence (for example through Uses (X) or Darrell's Kodak), it stays evidence even when the card it sits on has its ability blanked, so Darrell can still use it. The publisher reply quoted in the thread says this differs from earlier rulings.
