With Medium or Nerve Agent, can the Runner stop accessing extra cards partway through?

No. Medium and Nerve Agent let the Runner choose how many extra cards to access, but that number must be declared before the first access and cannot be changed afterwards, even if a trap shows up. Mandatory boosts such as HQ Interface or R&D Interface give no such choice; every extra card must be accessed. Maker's Eye is also mandatory.
