Agricola
Do I need an action to turn grain, vegetables or animals into food?
The rulebook says animals and vegetables can be turned into food any time and baking needs the action; a designer agrees.

No — cooking improvements convert goods at any time without an action. Only baking bread (for the better rate) needs a Bake Bread action, unless a card says otherwise.
