Can I turn a newborn animal into food right after breeding?
The publisher clarified the timing after checking with the designer; the rulebook forbids it only during the breeding phase.

Yes, once the breeding phase is over. Conversion is forbidden only for parents and newborn during the breeding phase itself; the publisher, after checking with the designer, confirmed that in the interim before the next round you may cook or convert them (e.g. with Salter) if you have room for the newborn.
