In a multiplayer campaign, can I keep an occupation between games and pay nothing for it?

Yes — each player may keep one occupation from the previous game in front of them without paying its occupation cost (except any individual cost printed on it), allowing up to 8 occupations in play. The winner of one game starts the next.
