Do the page-19 two-player special rules apply when playing solo against the Automa?
The Automa rulebook text is quoted by several players, but a Polish-edition reading differs and no official ruling resolves it.

No. The Automa rules state that the page-19 two-player special rules do not apply, so there is no non-player Faction on the Science display and no area tile. One player reports the Polish multiplayer rulebook saying the opposite, which is a known inconsistency in that edition.
